Over three years, the ISTs will be systemic throughout the district. This year has been formative for the ISTs, with the idea that we will be operational in each building when school begins next year. So the first year of the implementation phase will include staff development offerings for current IST members, for those who would like to be IST members and for tenure track teachers. Of course we’ll be gathering and analyzing the data as we proceed. In the second year, more of the staff development opportunities will be available and we will have at least some preliminary data to examine about the effectiveness of ISTs. By the 3rd year we’ll have enough data to be able to significantly review the data and plan for the next three years – we will have had teachers who have had 3 years of support and staff development and students who have had 3 years of being taught by professionals supported by ISTs.
